Ingredients of Homemade Macaroni & Cheese
1 | About 4 Cups of Macaroni Pasta. |
2 | Approximately 1 Cup of Plain Flour. |
3 | It’s 500 mls of Milk. |
4 | Take 500 mls of Water. |
5 | About 100 Grams of Butter. |
6 | It’s 3 Teaspoon of Yellow(English) Mustard. |
7 | You need 300 Grams of Cheese, Grated. |
8 | Approximately 1 Teaspoon of Oil. |
9 | Prepare 1 Teaspoon of Salt. |
Homemade Macaroni & Cheese cooking step by step
Step 1 | Put the Macaroni on to cook, with the Oil and Salt in the water.(Prevents sticking to the pan!) (10-15 Minutes). |
Step 2 | Meanwhile grate the Cheese and set aside.. |
Step 3 | Put the Flour and Butter into a large saucepan, and start to heat gently, stirring to prevent burning. Add a small amount of milk to the mix, still stirring.. |
Step 4 | Keep adding the milk, stirring and heating to make a thick paste, then adding more milk then the water until it’s all mixed in and a creamy sauce is made. If you have any lumps, use a whisk!. |
Step 5 | Turn down the heat, spoon in the Mustard, then add the grated Cheese, stirring all the while. Turn down the heat on the sauce and check the Pasta.. |
Step 6 | If cooked, drain well, then pour over the sauce and mix well. Enough for 4 portions. Can be frozen or just re- heated!! Enjoy!!. |
