These fruit scones are based on a recipe from my childhood cookbook for Cherry Scones and with a little adaption the fruit wasn't too heavy and ever so easy to make with kids – our Fruit Scones recipe. You can also add dried fruit to these to make traditional fruit scones, such as sultanas, currants and raisins; I have added that option in the recipe.. English Fruit Scones
You'll have probably heard it called pronounced "skahn" in. Making traditional scones is not as difficult as many imagine. A traditional fruit scone would be made with a mixture of dried fruits, and most commonly sultanas (a small seedless raisin). You can simply cook English Fruit Scones in 8 ingredients and 8 steps. Ingredients of English Fruit Scones
|Approximately 170 grams of self raising flour.|
|Prepare 3 grams of baking powder.|
|Approximately 38 grams of butter.|
|About 45 grams of sugar.|
|Take 10 grams of dried fruits…sultanas and raisins.|
|It’s 110 ml of milk.|
|It’s 8 grams of nuts.. Optional.|
|Approximately of Milk for the glaze.|
Perfect English Scones: Here's my family recipe for the perfect rustic english scone which go excellently with sweet or savory things like clotted cream and jam or parmesan and spinach.yum. English Fruit Scones cooking instructions
|Sift flour and baking powder in a bowl.|
|Add in the butter and rub till the mixture becomes sandy.|
|Add in the sugar and milk(in bits)..till a smooth dough forms.|
|Add in your nuts and dried fruits.|
|Transfer your dough to a floured surface.. And knead your dough till smooth.|
|Place them on a greased tray and glaze them with a little milk.|
|Let it rest for a while…roll your dough…and cut into 5 cm round.|
|Bake in a preheated oven 220 degrees C for about 10-15 minutes.|
