Ingredients of English Cottage Pie
1 | About 1 kg of King Edward Potatoes. |
2 | It’s 500 grams of Lean Steak Mince Meat. |
3 | You need 6 tbsp of Milk. |
4 | You need 3 of White Mushrooms. |
5 | It’s 2 tbsp of Butter. |
6 | You need 1 of Green Bell Pepper. |
7 | Approximately 1 of Carrott. |
8 | Approximately 1 clove of Garlic. |
9 | You need 1/2 of Red Onion. |
10 | Prepare 400 ml of Beef Stock. |
11 | Approximately 100 grams of Grated Cheese. |
English Cottage Pie cooking instructions
Step 1 | Preheat oven to No 5. |
Step 2 | Peel & boil potatoes, drain potatoes in collinder, then add milk & butter to pot, reheat until butter has melted. place boiled potatoes back in pot and mash well. |
Step 3 | Chop onion, mushroom, pepper & carrotts, crush garlic. |
Step 4 | In new pot add olive oil bring to low heat, add carrotts, onion, pepper, mushrooms & garlic fry for 5 mins. |
Step 5 | Add lean mince meat & beef stock to onion, mushroom & carrott mix pot. stir well & cook until meat is brown, 15 mins. |
Step 6 | Place meat mixture into oven baking dish, cover with mash potatoes & sprinkle over grated cheese. |
Step 7 | Place on middle oven shelf for 30 mins until surface is golden brown. |
