Cottage pie pie cooking instructions

Step 1 Fry carrots, onion and celery in a pan in a little oil. Peel and chop potatoes. Bring to the boil in a pot of salted water.
Step 2 Add mince and brown.
Step 3 Add tin of chopped tomatoes. Stir and cook for a few minutes.
Step 4 Add stock cube, a little water and frozen peas. Simmer on low for about 20 – 25 mins. Turn on the oven to 200 towards the end.
Step 5 Roll out pastry into a round tray. Prick with a fork. Add mince and spread around. Drain potatoes when cooked and mash with some butter.
Step 6 Add mash on top of mince.
Step 7 Turn the edges down. Run a fork across the mince to decorate. Add a few little knobs of butter on top. Glaze pastry with beaten egg.
Step 8 Bake for about 20-25 mins. Leave on a wire rack for 10 mins before serving :).
